Grief Group

Grief looks different for everyone.

Why Grief Group might
be perfect for you.

Grief doesn’t just follow the death of a loved one. It can rise up after losing a job, your health, a relationship, or even a dream. Whatever your story, this group is here to help you face the tide.

Surviving the Tide is a short-term group designed to support anyone walking through grief of any kind. We use the most current grief theories, thoughtful exercises, and guided discussion to help you process loss and take steps toward a new normal.

In addition to managing a Milwaukee-based medical practice of over 280 emergency room physicians, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners, Brent provides grief support every day of the week. With Brent, conversations about grief become approachable, meaningful, and deeply healing.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • A grief support experience that helps you make sense of what you’re feeling and find your way forward.

  • No one really teaches us how to grieve. Not in school. Rarely in our families. There is no set timeline, and many carry these questions in silence.

  • Grief can come in waves of confusion, anger, guilt, shame, and deep sadness. It’s a lot to carry on your own.

  • This is a supportive space where your grief is understood, not rushed, judged, or “fixed.”

  • Deeper understanding, moments of calm, and practical tools to help you move forward.

  • We understand that the expense of childcare can be a deterrent to participating in a Group. We offer a childcare supplement to help you cover childcare costs on group nights.
