The Meaning of Life

What if getting everything you’ve ever
wanted still wasn’t enough?

What is the meaning of life? Philosophers and sages have speculated on the answer to that question for centuries. Modern American culture has its own answers to the question. There are voices and opinions that tell us meaning is found in success, happiness, relationships, money, or experiences. If we can just get a little more, achieve a little higher, or enjoy ourselves a little longer, then life will finally feel complete. But what if that’s no true?

Episode 1

Life is short. So short, in fact, that it is meaningless. We chase success. We chase happiness. We chase “the good life.” And then we wonder why it still feels empty. In week one, we’ll explore why life is “meaningless” and why recognizing life’s fragility is the first step toward finding meaning

Episode 2

What if you got everything you’ve ever wanted? Your dream job, dream house, dream lifestyle, but then you discovered that there was still something missing. Mick Jaeger said he couldn’t get no satisfaction. The truth is, he couldn’t keep his satisfaction. If he had read Ecclesiastes, he would have understood what Solomon learned the hard way. You can gain the whole world and still have an empty soul.

Episode 3

There are seasons in life. Every career, every marriage, every partnership, every venture, and every life goes through seasons. They all have beginnings and endings. This is normal. But spiritual and emotional problems arise when we don’t know which season we’re in with a particular relationship, and when we don’t see endings as normal. As a result, we don’t know when a season has come to an end, and it’s time to move on to the next season. Wise people learn to tell what season they are in. In particular, they learn to recognize when the sun has set on a particular season of life so they can move on to the next.
